“I am humbled that I have been called by God to this great office”.
When Disraeli became Prime Minister he said,
“At last I’ve got to the top of the greasy pole”.
So Prime Ministers have very different characters and they organise the central government territory in different ways but there are still common factors and long standing institutions that influence how they operate and this section explains how the core executive works now. (p.s. in Victorian fairgrounds they did have a greasy pole and you got a prize if you could climb up it)
